Beau has been a resident of the 108th District his entire life. He attended Breitung Township Schools and graduated from Kingsford High School. He received his Bachelors Degree in International Relations at Michigan State University and is currently pursuing his Juris Doctorate at Wayne State University Law School. He put his education on hold to represent the people of Dickinson, Delta, and Menominee Counties in the 99th Michigan Legislature.
“Too many Yoopers are being forced to leave their homes in order to find work," LaFave noted at his campaign announcement. "I can no longer sit on the sidelines. I am running for State Representative for everyone who has seen their family or friends leave the UP. I will fight to bring them back.”
Beau has always been a fighter. Shortly after his birth at the Old Dickinson County Hospital, he underwent a surgery to amputate his left leg. He now runs and walks with the assistance of a prosthetic.
“I have never let this disability hold me back. It has taught me that nothing in life comes easy. I look forward to going door-to-door in Delta, Dickinson, and Menominee Counties to learn from the great people of this district.”
